Still Waters is committed to going above and beyond the guidance for childcare centers provided by the CDC. Please find below the ways we are prioritizing the well-being of your children, family, and our staff. From personal protective equipment, to distance-conscious procedures, to professional deep cleans, we will continue do all that we can to navigate safely in these uncertain times.
Sanitation and Cleanliness Procedures
- Staff will wear protective masks AND face shields each day.
- Stringent, area specific cleaning and sanitizing protocols will be executed each day.
- Social distancing protocols (6 ft apart) will be monitored.
- Certified Clean Care disinfecting the entire school facility, top to bottom, with Electrostatic Spray System using an EPA registered disinfectant (odorless and non-toxic).
- Regular wellness checks conducted.
- Modified meal-time procedures to promote safety.
Staff check-in requirements
- Anyone with 100 degrees or higher not permitted on site. Staff member must be fever free for 48 hours before returning.
- Send in a travel assurance. No international travel, cruise ship/riverboat within the past 14 days.
- Symptoms Check: No consistent post-nasal drip, coughing or sneezing permitted.
- Modified student check-in and check-out procedures for sanitary transfer (please view New Drop-Off and Pick-Up Procedures below).
- All Staff and Students will follow proper hand washing procedures.
Handwashing Procedure: (Follow these 5 steps every time.) “W-L-S-R-D Song”
- Wet your hands with clean, running water, turn off the tap, and apply soap.
- Lather your hands by rubbing them together with the soap. Lather the backs of your hands, between your fingers, and under your nails.
- Scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds. Need a timer? Hum the “Happy Birthday” song from beginning to end twice.
- Rinse your hands well under clean, running water.
- Dry your hands using a paper towel or air dry them.
Key Times to Wash Hands will include but are not limited to:
- Before, during, and after preparing food
- Before eating food
- Before and after caring for someone at home who is sick with vomiting or diarrhea
- Before and after treating a cut or wound
- After using the toilet
- After blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing
- Before touching your eyes, nose, or mouth because that’s how germs enter our bodies.
New Drop-Off and Pick-Up Procedures
Drop-Off:
Parents must submit the following information on the Brightwheel app before departing for Still Waters. Please note that temperatures 100 or above will not be permitted on site until 48 hours after the fever has left:
- Student’s temperature
- Parent’s temperature
- Estimated time of drop off and pick-up
- Any symptoms (coughing, sneezing, runny nose)
- Any travel in last 14 days
- Parents are encouraged to have the same person for drop off and pick up.
- Parents will need to wear a face mask and the childcare worker will wear face mask and gloves.
- Care provider may ask parents about symptoms, including cough, difficulty breathing, sore throat, muscle aches, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and any other symptoms of illness which may have begun since the last time child was in care. Parents may be asked if child has been given any fever-reducing medication. Children with symptoms should go home and remain home until 48 hours after symptoms resolve.
- After health check, if child will be permitted into care, parent will sign them in on their own phone if possible. If parent is not able to sign child in, care worker will sign the child in on Brightwheel. Parent will place child’s belongings into a basket on the table. Care worker will pick up the belongings basket from the table and wipe down the table. Care worker will escort child and take belongings directly to their classroom and immediately wash the child’s hands or direct older children to wash their own hands.
- Note that care workers will sanitize hands before conducting health check for another child
Pick Up:
- Parents will send message with an ETA when they are on the way to pick up child
- Gather child’s belongings near the ETA of the parent
- Use the same carpool lane for pick up as for drop off
- Childcare worker will escort child from classroom to the carpool lane curb
- Childcare worker will place child’s belongings on the table for parent to pick up
- Childcare worker will wipe down table after each family picks up belongings
